MVM Zöld Generáció's energy storage facility in Sopronkövesd: a row of JD Energy eBlock-418A units next to the wind farm

11.1 MW · 22.2 MWh · April 2026

MVM Zöld Generáció Zrt. – Sopronkövesd

CRESCOM Kft. supplied the energy storage equipment and transformers for MVM Zöld Generáció Zrt.’s 11 MW / 22 MWh energy storage project in Sopronkövesd. Within the BESS facility, the installation of 20 kV underground cables and a new 20 kV switching station was also required, while the grid connection is made in the existing 132/20 kV transformer station serving the wind farm. Hungary’s first co-located energy storage facility installed next to a wind farm consists of 53 JD Energy eBlock-418A units, which were commissioned in April 2026. Following successful commissioning and trial operation, the installed BESS successfully passed the aFRR accreditation test of MAVIR Zrt.

CRESCOM’s role: The project was delivered by a consortium comprising CRESCOM Kft. and KKS-Energy Kft. CRESCOM was responsible for the procurement and supply of the energy storage equipment, project management, commissioning of the energy storage system, integration of the control systems and obtaining aFRR accreditation. The project includes maintenance for 11 years to ensure the operational reliability of the system. According to the performance guarantee test carried out by TÜV Rheinland, the overall round-trip efficiency of the implemented system at the connection point is 87.71%.

MVM Tisza Erőmű Kft. – Tiszaújváros

As EPC main contractor, CRESCOM Kft. delivered MVM Tisza Erőmű Kft.’s 37 MW / 75 MWh energy storage system. The BESS comprises 180 JD Energy eBlock-418A units and eight 15.75 kV / 0.69 kV transformers. Construction took just two months, and commissioning was completed in five days in June 2026. The facility subsequently passed MAVIR Zrt.’s aFRR accreditation test.

CRESCOM’s role: For this project, CRESCOM was responsible for delivering the full EPC scope, which included the supply of the main equipment, the detailed design, the construction, the commissioning of the system and obtaining aFRR accreditation. The project includes maintenance for 11 years to ensure the operational reliability of the system. According to the performance guarantee test carried out by NIDAVEL FIVE, the overall round-trip efficiency of the implemented system at the transformer output terminals is 88.434%.
